Ensoniq ZR-76
The Ensoniq ZR-76 was certainly ahead of its time for it's day. It seems like it was ages and ages ago -and perhaps that is true in synth years. The Ensoniq ZR-76 was first produced in 1998. The instrument comes with a whopping 1200 sounds, 64-note polyphony and a very comfortable, just-right-sized, 76-key keyboard. An instrument like this cost well over 2-Grand in its day. By today's standard the Ensoniq ZR-76 still sounds and plays really well and will do most of the music tasks required by todays demanding musician or producer. And you know...in a way, I still think the piano and guitar sounds are a bit better than some of today's synths.
